_1984’s composition intersected my art practice,
creating hand casted records and recorded conversations
with my mother, Linda L. Moore, whom the cover and allegory
is primarily dedicated to.
_1984 is a biographical “sonic tapestry” inspired by and
dedicated to the cherished memories of departed family members.
This project stands as a cathartic journey through grieving,
solace in the face of mortality, embracing family trauma and
pondering the intricacies of existence. This is a dialogue within
the symbols and institutions that shape black history, our agency,
expression, and self-reflection.
With deepest gratitude, I extend my thanks to all who lend their ears
and minds to this. Thank you for sharing space with me. May this
album be a source of inspiration or whatever the fuck you need it to be.
Love.

they picked the cotton that saved the world. that picked cotton propelled u.s. economy; a unique capitalist setup. (though anglo saxon colonizers are not unique.) so many pop stars and hip hop billboard mainstays trumpet u.s. capitalism ad nauseam; or escapism & distraction.
"Don't Die," also powerful.
"i don't believe they lies. don't believe their truth, need they heads for proof" -- that's direct and powerful.
the violinist Saydah Ruz stands out here, i think. Jeremy Leaming
